Introducing Aura: Space Weather Data Explorer

Aura: the space weather data explorer available on Meta Quest

Aura: Space Weather Data Explorer is now available for free in the Meta Horizons app store for early access download! Because space should be experienced spatially.

For space enthusiasts, researchers, and those curious about the cosmos, Aura offers an immersive experience for visualizing and interacting with solar phenomena via real-time NASA and NOAA data sources.

Key Features:

  • See the latest Solar Imagery from the GOES Solar Ultraviolet Imager (SUVI) and the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO)

  • Track the magnitude of geomatic storms using the Planetary K Index available from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center

  • Track solar flares using the X-ray flux data available from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center

  • Monitor high-energy particles and their potential impacts on satellites and space-based assets using proton flux data from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center

  • Monitor the intensity of the outer electron radiation belt using Electron Flux data from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center

  • Refresh and fetch new data from the satellites with a single tap

Download the free app now to explore real-time solar events and space weather.
